The 50-year-old is now the Daily Mirror’s agony aunt. In 2012 Maureen’s sister Coleen came second in Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother in 2012 after her pal Julian Clary won. She fell in love with the show after seeing her late sister Bernie – who died of breast cancer at 52 last year – play Mrs Johnstone. The 59-year-old grandmother-of-two, who enjoyed chart success with her sisters in their band The Nolans, with hits including I’m In The Mood For Dancing, has been performing in Willy Russell’s award-winning hit musical “on-and-off” since 2005. Maureen finished panto in Carlisle on New Year’s Day to return to playing Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers on January 6. In-between performances of Blood Brothers, singer and actress Maureen Nolan is “glued” to watching her younger sister Linda on Celebrity Big Brother.
